Out of the dust

Out of the dust

by Karen Hesse

ISBN: 0590360809,  c. 1997

A captivating journal from a young girl who captures what life was like living during the dust bowl period in history.     It captures Billie Jo’s hardships in dealing with life and yet triumphs with her courageous spirit and humor in her observations.   Billie Jo is a survivor!

In verse format it is easy to read, sad, but well worth reading.  I give it a five star review because it captures so much of what a time in history was like.
